KINGSTOWN – In a heart-stop­ping fi­nale to the 2025 Crick­let West In­dies (CWI) T20 Blaze, Guyana Women tri­umphed over Ja­maica in a dra­mat­ic Su­per Over fin­ish af­ter both teams were dead­locked at 122 runs in reg­u­la­tion play at Arnos Vale in St Vin­cent on Sun­day night.

Ja­maica, sent in to bat af­ter Guyana won the toss, were held to 122-5 thanks to a dis­ci­plined bowl­ing ef­fort led by Nyia Latch­man, who bagged 2-11 and Ash­mi­ni Mu­nis­ar, claim­ing 2-26.

Chedean Na­tion an­chored the in­nings with a steady 35, while Abi­gail Bryce’s un­beat­en 32 and Jo­di­an Mor­gan’s 27 pushed Ja­maica to a com­pet­i­tive to­tal.

Guyana’s chase mir­rored their op­po­nents, fin­ish­ing at 122-5. She­maine Camp­belle led the fight­back with a com­posed 54, sup­port­ed by Realean­na Grim­mond’s cru­cial 46 af­ter ear­ly stum­bles.

Ja­maica’s bowlers kept things tight, with Chinelle Hen­ry bag­ging 1-12 and Jo­di­an Mor­gan 2-25, stand­ing out.

With the scores lev­el, the match went in­to a Su­per Over. Guyana post­ed 8 runs, with Vanes­sa Watts strik­ing to re­move Shabi­ka Gajn­abi for three. Cap­tain Camp­belle with three and Grim­mond with two runs en­sured Guyana got eight off their pow­er play over.

Need­ing nine for vic­to­ry, Ja­maica crum­bled un­der pres­sure with Hen­ry falling for a duck, Na­tion was run out for two, and they man­aged just 3 for 2, seal­ing a his­toric ti­tle win for Guyana in a nail-bit­ing fin­ish.
