The latest edition of the Cannes Film Festival is underway and this year we will witness the Indian films and talents showcasing their power at the world’s most prestigious cinematic celebration.
Aranyer Din Ratri
Satyajit Ray’s cult-classic featuring Sharmila Tagore, Simi Garewal and Soumitra Chatterjee will be featured at Cannes. Directors Martin Scorsese and Wes Anderson have done the restoration of the film as they are deeply committed to global film preservation. The latter will be present at the screening as a member of the board at The Film Foundation along with Margaret Bodde (Executive Director, The Film Foundation) and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur (Director, Film Heritage Foundation).
The screening will be attended by Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal.
Homebound
Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter & Vishal Jethwa starrer Homebound will be screened in the Un Certain Regard section—a category known for presenting artistic cinema from across the world. The film is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.
Tanvi The Great
The Anupam Kher directorial will make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) during the festival. The movie also features Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser and Shubhangi.
Charak
The Shieladitya Moulik directorial, which narrates the traditional Bengali Charak Puja ritual and showcases the theme of blind faith, stars Anjali Patil, Sahidur Rahaman, Subrat Dutta, Shashi Bhushan, Sreya Bhattacharya, Nalneesh Neel, Koushik Kar, Sushmita Sur, Debdas Ghosh, Shankhdeep & Shounak Shyamal.

Directed by Kokob Gebrehaweria Tesfay, an Ethiopian student of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, the has been officially selected at the La Cinef section of the Cannes Film Festival 2025!
