(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return of a Guatemalan man who was wrongfully deported to Mexico earlier this year.

The man is identified as "OCG." According to court documents, he was seeking asylum in the U.S. last year after suffering multiple violent attacks in Guatemala.

An immigration judge ruled that he should not be sent back to his native country, but days after receiving his status, he was forced onto a bus to Mexico by immigration authorities and did not have a chance to contact his lawyer.

Court documents state Mexican authorities then deported him back to Guatemala where he says he lives in fear.

In a ruling, the judge wrote OCG's removal to Mexico and subsequently Guatemala likely lacked due process.
