In 2017, Belarus imported 114.8 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil, an increase of 19% compared with the previous year volumes, which almost complied with the level of 2014, reported the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
According to APK-Inform experts, increasing of demand rates on the domestic market of Belarus, especially from oil-producing enterprises, became the main reason for the growth of sunflower oil purchases in the country.
Last year, Russia (80%) and Ukraine (20%) became the key suppliers of the product to Belarus.
